About the Event
The Walker Insights series is an annual conference, held in Minneapolis which covers a variety of themes in design. Each year, a selection of designers are chosen to speak about their work and process, and answer questions from the audience.
The theme for 2020 is ABSORB. Join our speakers, David Pearson, Archie Lee Coates IV, and Sheila Levrant de Bretteville as they speak on this topic and how it influenced their careers.
Speakers
David Pearson
As an esteemed book designer for Penguin and Editorial Zulma, Pearson strives to create designs that will entice bookstore window-shoppers to see more than just the covers he creates.
Archie Lee Coates IV
Cofounder of design studio PLAYLAB, INC. and CLOG, a semi-regular design publication, Archie Lee Coates IV is currently working on the NYC Public swimming project, PLUS POOL.
Sheila Levrant de Bretteville
Levrant de Bretteville started her work in the design space in the early '60s, but her impact grew in 1971, when she "founded the first design program for women at CalArts" and shortly after, the Woman's Building, a "center for women's education and culture."
